Georgina Island Honey
100% HAND-CRAFTED ONTARIO HONEY
Georgina Island, the largest island on Lake Simcoe, is used as a bee breeding station for the Honey Bee Research Centre. Given Georgina's isolated nature, it offers a pristine environment for bee life to flourish. The wide array of flowers in the region also help Georgina's vibrant bee communities thrive.
While the head beekeeper would like to note that honey profiles can shift year to year, Georgina Island Honey is typically a darker shaded honey. This gives it the most powerful honey flavour among our honey varieties. Georgina Island Honey can also carry hints of cinnamon and buckthorn.
Georgina Island Honey is gently heated and filtered to prevent crystallization and to remove excess wax and pollen. The honey is never pasteurized, and has many antibacterial properties.
